Keys To Becoming an Expert

This is a boring topic for some marketers.
All they want to do is sell stuff and (if an MLM person) sign people up for their team. They never see themselves as a brand or an independent business - they're more like an appendage to the company that they have attached themselves to. This is not a prudent or safe approach to take.
By aligning yourself with one company you're taking a bet that the company will grow and prosper for many years to come. Looking at the track record of the vast majority of network marketing companies, I'd have to say that the hoards of people who join these programs each year exhibit very poor judgment. Most are delusional.
On the other hand a professional online marketer will source products from different companies. Some will even develop their own products, such as an eBook or a digital training product. Rather than being a rusted on distributor for some kind of a 'pills, potions and lotions' MLM company, they see themselves as free agents, or more precisely free affiliates.
An affiliate is not dependent on one company, and is more focused on selling products than constantly needing to recruit people to join his/her team.
Here's What the Best Affiliates Do
The best affiliates see themselves as a brand firstly, but then push the envelope further by positioning themselves as an expert in their niche. This in turn will attract a regular flow of quality customers who happily spend money with them.
How to Position Yourself As an Expert
To position you as an expert will take time, focus and persistence. By the way you don't necessarily have to know more than the competition - all that counts is that your audience THINKS you know more. Perception is everything.
Nevertheless you will still have to grind it out for a year or more before you can become a fully fledged member of the 'experts club'. Here are some tips:
Daily Content.
As an affiliate you must embrace content marketing as your bedrock strategy. Therefore, creating daily content is mandatory. Daily content creation will give you the skills you need to communicate with people more effectively, whilst at the same time giving you the raw material to attract and build an audience.
In the early stages you may assume the role of reporter rather than expert, by simply reporting on niche specific topics that others are writing about. Keep in mind that not all of your content needs to be written. You can intersperse written content with video and audio content.
Authority Content.
You can't do this every day because of the time required to create it, but several times a month you should create an authority article - at least 1,200 words. Don't think you have the credibility to create some authority content? This is what you do - fake it till you make it. Soon you will start to think like an expert which will ensure continued progress on your journey.
Here is an example of authority content. All good authority content should be multifaceted. Rather than simply write in a superficial manner about the topic at hand, you'll dig deeper into and bring to the reader new insights that they probably hadn't considered before.
Opinionated Content.
Experts have opinions, right? They sure do. People expect them to have opinions, therefore taking an opinionated approach - if done correctly and carefully - can work wonders as a positioning strategy for you.
